Lulu is a big girl now!!! Three years old! So much character and spunk. Such a beautiful little spirit!!!! I must capture this NOW!!!!! Besides I miss blogging and I think it has a much more lasting effect than FB.... so I am going to try to post here again. I believe it will make for a much better chronological record of her growth!!!!

Guess Who's Three

This year Lulu insisted on a party. She was not going to let me out of this one. So she had THREE. One at the daycare, one at Grandma Margarets and one at home.

Since we moved to a much smaller place it was hard for me fathom having people over. But I realize it does not matter to Lulu if we are in the sprawling ranch or a cramped apartment, Home is Home to her. And actually Home IS where the heart is. So I gave my HEART a perfect little party.

The theme was Lady Bugs in the Winter. And the invitation read... Tutu Cute Guess who's turning Three. All the girls were asked to wear Tutu's and every girl was hand picked for the party.

This morning before going to "skool" Lulu had a piece of gum... so tonight she was laying in my bed before bed and she said "No gum here"... I asked who told her that..."Rolle" then she added... "Put in garbage... I cry like this" (with her fake cry face).... Hilarious

Two years ago today I received my referral call. If you don't know what that is or how it went you can read about it here! The time has flown by and I can't even remember life before her. She defines me and I am just so blessed to be in her life. I have been bad about blogging because I am all FB all the time... but I am committed to keeping this journal for her. It probably won't be exciting to anyone but us!

I need a place to keep this pics and these hilarious anecdotes. So forgive me if this comes up in your reader out of NOWHERE!!!! lol

For breakfast -- mini bagel with peanut butter... sucked the PB off and spit out the bagel

This year Lulu and I are going to try to blog about the daily happenings of Lulu. And maybe even a daily pic... I can do this! We can do it! I know we can!

Mommy: 2009 has been a very exciting, life changing year, but I am praying for great things in 2010.

4 months of being home with Ms. Lulu

* She has changed much and last night I had to purge her closet and have 2 large bags of "too smalls"

* She is very very advanced but still isn't walking

* She has a vocabulary!!! "hi", "wow", "sock", "yep", "baby", "Charles", "Mama" "dada"

*she refuses to walk

*she doesn't like to eat, won't drink milk out of a sippy cup and loves vanilla wafers

*she wakes up MULTIPLE times a night and drinks a bottle (and that's ALL)

*she loves people especially her Tee Tee, her uncle, her PaPa and her Granny

*she was only 7.7 lbs at 4 months and in the 5% percentile and now is 20 lbs and in the 30%

*she helps clean up

*she loves her mommy!

March 4 months 7 lbs Sept Just home 13 lbs

December 20 lbs

My baby is getting it in!!!

I have the all important job of keeping the wall up. My Tee Tee took a video. Disregard the dialogue my family is LOONY :) My Mommy tossed me that teddy bear (I think it was a toss but I wonder...) My mother calls me Lulabell, I don't know why but I have a LOT of names!!! The jingle noise you hear, it took me a while to get used to that.... its my Cambodian Anklet that is said to ward off evil spirits. I wear it all the time!!!

On Saturday, my favorite Aunt Rose -- the one I'm named after, hosted a Meet and Greet in my honor!!!!! It was my first party. There was lots of yummy food, I couldn't really eat it but Grandma Margaret made sure to sneak me some! Here are the pictures

I'm gonna try to write somethin every day of November and all the way up to my birthday just like mommy!!!!

Yesterday was Halloween. I had TWO parties. One at my Aunt Roses House. A meet and greet and I got presents, the other one at Tee Tee Alison's and I had potatoes and cake!!! It was very fun and I was a bumble bee!!!!

I was TIRED!!!

5 weeks today

5 weeks ago I slept my first night in my beautiful nursery.

I have learned to do so much since then!!!!

I can roll over like Domonique Dawes

I can clap

I can hold my bottle

I can snap my fingers

I can stand on my legs (with help from Mommy)

I eat solid food twice a day

I sleep in my own bed (always have)

I scream and sing and dance (thanks to my Papa)

I can identify those I know and recognize those I don't know

I am loved and doted over!!! Maybe a little spoiled. But my family is VERY lucky to have me!

I can say my own name!

I am patiently waiting because Mommy is on a jet plane. I think she's going to stop over in Dubai for a few days and I hear that she's enjoying crown and cokes until she gets here. I will post pictures when I meet her and tell you all about it!!!

Lulako Means Pretty

I was born Lulako Daniso, in the Sidama region of Ethiopia. They say I was born on December 3, 2008, but are not too sure, I wasn't born in the hospital. My first mommy and daddy would have loved to be my only mommy and daddy but God has a different plan. See my first daddy Daniso Wakayo died before I was born. He died from illnesses caused by poor sanitation and digesting dirty water. It was a very sad time for my mommy and it made her very ill with worry. My first mommy's name is Aster Debiso. I was only 24 days young when she died. I wasn't left alone. I have a sister and 3 brothers!!! My uncle Karfafa Wakayo tried very hard to keep me with him, to honor his brother Daniso. But I became very ill, because it was hard to get milk and there was no formula and so with a heavy heart he took me to an orphanage to be cared for.

I was very tiny when I came to the Gladney care center on March 2nd, 2009. I only weighed 7 lbs. I had several health issues, but while in Gladney's care, I feel much much better.

On April 9th, I got a new mommy!!!!!!

I'll let Mommy tell her own story, she has a blog too (of course), you can see it here... MOMMY'S BLOG... but don't go away!!!

It took a long time for my paper work. My Mommy said she was really worried. And for some reason she was worried about my looks.... ain't I beautiful?

Mommy waited, and worked, and prayed and finally on July 2, 2009 I officially became the artist known as

SCOTLAND ROSE LULAKO HOPKINS

But you can call me Lulu!!!!
